Stop being less than you can be and reach your goals.

It’s hard to say what’s best, but here is the advice that will have the most impact:

1. Explore your options - You are young and you have time. Allow yourself to waste a little know so you don’t have to waste more later on.
2. Work on love - No relationship will be loving and passionate forever if left alone. It takes hard work to create an amazing relationship!
3. Go at it with the end in mind - Think about what you would love getting paid for and then plan accordingly. Don’t go with the subject that seems nice now, instead focus on the career, which is the ultimate goal, and go from there.
4. Learn more - The more you learn right now the easier it will be in the future. “Either you pay now or you pay later.” - Axel Schwekendiek (my dad).
5. Avoid debt and debt decisions - If you cannot afford a relationship, child or house, then you can’t afford it right now. Period. Be patient. It will still come, right now is just not the time.
6. Be honest with yourself - If you want something, you want it. Stop making excuses and justifications and find a way to get it!
7. Make mistakes - Rather take one risk too much than too little. You don’t know how the world works yet but you have enough time to deal with the mistakes. Go for what you think is right, even if it is a bit risky.
8. Invest in yourself - If you need to spend money, spend it on staying healthy and fit, and improving yourself.
9. Learn to say No - You do not have to go to the party, you do not have to do what your parents tell you to do, and you do not have to conform to anyone’s beliefs. This life is yours. Make it what you want.
10. Take your time - You don’t have to have it all figured out by tomorrow. If you don’t know what you want, where to go or who you want to become, then wait a while and think about it rather than going for the first best thing. There is no rush.
