For years, I operated in chaos mode. My typical day involved juggling multiple tasks simultaneously, constantly switching between projects, and ending each evening feeling drained and frustrated. I thought I was being productive, but really, I was just busy and there's a huge difference.

This mental preparation is a game-changer. When I actually sit down to work, I'm not figuring things out on the fly. I've already "done" it in my head. There's no confusion, no wasted time wondering where to start, and no panic when something unexpected pops up.

One Task at a Time

I used to wear multitasking like a badge of honor. Working on three or more things at once felt productive. But the truth? My attention was divided, my work suffered, and I never felt truly satisfied with anything I completed.

Now I do one thing at a time. I give it my full attention, finish it completely, and then move on. The relief of actually completing something not just making progress on five half-done projects is incredible.

This habit eliminates the feeling of being overwhelmed. When you're mentally prepared and focused on just one task, you're in control. You're not reacting to chaos; you're executing a plan.
